What the Client Wanted:
These clients of ours were looking to extend their kitchen and living area in order to completely transform the space. As you can see in the pictures below, the existing kitchen was signifantly smaller in size. We have transformed this average size kitchen to create an open-plan sun-lit retreat, perfect for relaxing in. What we did:
We started this project by excavating the footings, which is where we encountered a big problem; having to go down 2.4 meters. Nevertheless, for the Clarkson Team, this wasn’t an issue, and we overcame the challenge. We then proceeded to dig out the foundations, which were shuttered with ply and concreted. We then started on the actual construction of the extension which includes a vaulted ceiling with Velux windows on both sides.
A large kitchen knock through to the existing kitchen was required in order to create the lovely, spacious diner/lounge/sunroom. This kitchen was designed by WSK Kitchens and fitted by WJF Interiors & BCB Home Improvements. Reconfiguration of the existing lounge was needed to create a new entrance hall. All of the flooring was completed by Jason Scott at Overgate Flooring, whilst all electrics were performed by our great friend M.Cann Electrical Services Ltd. We also had the guys from Need for Screed who provided all of the screeding services for this project.
Beyond the kitchen is the open-plan living/dining area which features the large bi-fold doors and internal blinds looking out into the garden. To finish off this project we went through an installed new oak glazed modern-style internal doors.
Overall, this is another great-looking project completed by our team for another great customer.
