What the Client Wanted:
Here is an update on the ongoing works we are completing at Mayfair House in Emberton. The project involves the removal of the garage and kitchen roof, the building of an extension and the conversion of several rooms.
What we did:
We were asked to convert one half of the existing garage into a brand new utility and playroom. The project has consisted of us installing new Pozi Joists from the ground floor to the first floor. The building then required an entirely new ceiling throughout the kitchen and the construction of all news walls on the first floor. We installed a new trusses roof with six dormers, three on each side. These are ready for the window installations to go in at some point.
When building the new roof, we reused a lot of the existing slate tiles for one half of the new roof. For the remaining half, new slate tiles were bought to match the rest of the roof. While working on the roof, we also increased the size of the existing chimney to allow for a new log burner in the lounge.
Our team is working on the plastering of all the internal walls throughout the extension. We are now currently in the process of finishing the rest of the plastering, skirting and the architraves. We’ll then install all of the internal oak doors, the windows and the external doors.
We’ll have more pictures of the completed project very soon. If you’re interested in any of the services that we have to offer, then don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
