What The Client Wanted:
We recently completed a project for a lovely couple based in Wolverton Lodge, Milton Keynes. This was the first of the many projects that we were forced to postpone due to COVID-19, so it was great to get back to work once lockdown measures had been eased.
Before taking a closer look at the project, we would like to say a huge thank you to our clients, Graham and Emma. We are so grateful for their patience throughout the process as they didn’t have to wait for much longer than expected to get this stunning porch completed. But, the finish was well worth the wait, if we do say so ourselves!
Project Overview:
For this particular project, we worked alongside Emma for the initial stages, along with our highly recommended architect, Anthony Thompson, who drew up all of the plans for this project.
Once the design had been confirmed, our team took over and got to work building the foundations. All floor slabs were then installed, as well as beautiful stonework supplied from Weston Underwood Stone Quarry. The next step of the process was to construct the oak frame; however, this was completed off-site before being brought back to the property for installation.
We then moved onto fitting the roof, which was complete with 2 Velux windows on either side. A third window was also installed in the current hallway to create a bright, open space that allowed plenty of natural light to stream in. The existing white uPVC window frames were removed and replaced with a set of custom oak windows to match the appearance of the porch, which added the perfect finishing touch. To allow the client to enjoy their new addition the moment that the project had finished, the final stages included plastering the walls before decorating throughout.
Both the client and our team couldn’t be happier with the results of this project. If a porch is an addition that you are interested in for your home, please feel free to contact Clarkson Builders!
